SEALC invites applications for support to attend the 2021 ACTFL Convention (November 19-21, 2021 in San Diego, CA). The purpose of this award is to promote the professional development of SE Asian language instructors and increase their visibility at the American Council of Teachers of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) annual convention. *Please note: at this time, the format of the 2021 ACTFL Convention is virtual. SEALC support for attending the convention is still applicable to this format.
Eligibility
To apply for an ACTFL convention award, the applicant must be a Southeast Asian language instructor and an ACTFL member. Applicant must be an active member of COTSEAL. Additionally, the applicant must have participated in at least one SEALC and/or COTSEAL professional development workshop. Priority will be given to those instructors who have submitted proposals to present at the 2021 ACTFL Convention.

How to apply
Applicants should fill out and submit the application here. All applications must be submitted by August 15, 2021. Applicants will be notified of their award status by September 1, 2021.
The application includes the following required materials:
1. Description of proposal submitted to ACTFL, if applicable (150 words max)
2. Statement describing how attendance at the 2021 ACTFL convention will further your professional goals and how it relates to your current work (250 words max)
3. A current CV
