Who We Are

The Southeast Asian Language Council (SEALC) is a national organization that promotes and coordinates activities in the field of SE Asian language teaching by working with national organizations such as the National Resource Centers for Southeast Asian Studies, the Council of Teachers of Southeast Asian Languages (COTSEAL), the Southeast Asian Summer Studies Institute (SEASSI), and Southeast Asian language-specific organizations. SEALC strives to improve SE Asian language teaching programs by supporting and coordinating language-related efforts to improve the quality and accessibility of SE Asian language instruction, building organizational linkages, and in so doing creating the next generation of well-trained teachers with improved curricular resources. The activities of the Southeast Asian Language Council are generously supported by the Henry Luce Foundation under the award entitled Professional and Materials Development to Strengthen Southeast Asian Language Instruction.
